Our Story
We're not just a Historical Rental...We're an Experience to Remember!
We started The Railroad House on the Bourbon Trail with the mission to provide a great historical vacation rental experience for our guests with modern amenities. Since that time, we've expanded to offering Venue and Photo Studio Rentals also! With years of traveling as a family who loves history, we understand what it takes to create an experience and make your stay unforgettable. We take great pride in offering you a historical experience on the Bourbon Trail in the oldest town in Kentucky.

Our Property
Our property is located in the Historical Downtown area of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Harrodsburg was recently voted as one of Kentucky's most charming towns by World Atlas.
Our venue and home's location has a wide range of history including antiques, original elements preserved during renovation, and sites nearby with so much to do nearby! We strive to maintain the historical charm while providing modern day amenities. We hope you cherish our home as much as we do.

- 2863 sq ft spacious home (some rooms with 15' ceilings)

- Claw foot tub and brand new oversized walk-in shower in the main en suite

- 2 porch swings on deck, Golf putting green, Karaoke machine, Hammock, BBQ grill, Firepit, Gazebo, & Train Watching, platform for events and walkway for Brides!

Things to Do!
We offer a range of referrals for services, activities, and sites to make your stay even more enjoyable, including door to door custom tours for Bourbon Distilleries, wineries, historical sites, wedding venue, horse farm tours, golf, museums, lakes and waterfalls, caves, outdoor activities, antique shopping, train watching from our front door and more.
Be sure to check out our Guest Book or inquire prior to your visit. Book in advance for any Bourbon Distillery tours as they book up in advance. Typically children are not allowed on distillery tours.
Families should check out Old Fort Harrod (a few blocks away), Shaker Village, Keeneland Horse race course, Mammoth Cave, museums, zipline parks, waterparks, horse farm tours, kids play place, "Epic Center" downtown, the Scenic Railroad Museum, civil war sites, nature trails, lakes, Kentucky river floats, Malibu Jacks, and more
